    i am new to all of this and I am having trouble to have my Blog live…

    I purchased a domain with Go Daddy (www.cruzeiromaritimo.net) and also purchased the WordPress Hosting for the domain. I installed the WordPress and all of this..

    The problem is that now I have my domain https://www.cruzeiromaritimo.net showing me a blog and the https://www.cruzeiromaritimo.wordpress.com showing me another one…I was reading that I need to purchase domain mapping but no option was found…I read that I have to change the DNS to NS1.wordpress.com 2 and 3 (something like that but my additions on the Total Domain Control on Go Daddy doesnt appear once I add these…dont know what to do…I am REAL FRUSTRATED…such a mission to get this BLog to the https://www.cruzeiromaritimo.net domain…

  • Just to clarify – your blog is hosted at cruszeiromaritimo.wordpress.com and you bought a domain name and pointed it to above-mentioned. If that’s the case, please post in wordpress.com forum because this is for self-hosted WordPress

    nope…I self hosted but I just learned that when you do the domain mapping wordpress hosts the blog…
    I need to upload a new theme…is there anyway to access the content of my blog in wordpress to upload a new theme or do I have to self host to do that?

    Ok, this is where it seems you are confused between your old blog at wordpress.com and your new self-hosted blog … or maybe I am getting confused by all of this ??
    – For your blog at wordpress.com, i.e. cruzeiromaritimo.wordpress.com, you cannot upload any theme, you can only choose from among the themes in wordpress.com
    – For your self-hosted blog, you should point your domain name to your host’s server. Go to admin dashboard and then to Appearance > Add New Theme and choose from among available themes www.remarpro.com has
