Desktop Child Theme

    Hi, I also have a problem with widgets. I am using a child theme. I note your solution to a previous question as being to add the line:

    require_once(ABSPATH . '/wp-content/themes/yourdesktoptheme/functions.php');

    to the mobile theme functions.php

    But if I use the child theme path, it throws an error as it’s attempting to reference the parent theme; if I use the parent theme path I lose my widgets. Is there a workaround? Many thanks for your help.
