Designated Front Page not appearing on home page.

    I have 2 copies of the site I am working on –
    Dev:
    https://occ.mikelowndes.net/wp/
    Test/staging:
    https://occ-live.mikelowndes.net/

    occ-live is copied from occ using Updraft migrator tool. However, the designated Front Page (Magazine home template) is not showing on the HP of occ-live. You’ll also see that ‘HOME’ in the nav menu is not highlighted, though the page IS set up as the Static front page in the theme customizer. Any ideas what could be causing this?

    Hi there,

    Thanks for using Poseidon.

    Your second site is not avaible, so hard to tell what is happening.

    Please make sure you have selected the correct page as front page. Also check if the Magazine Homepage template is assigned to it.

    The theme should not work in any other way on the second website, so something is simply configured differently there.

    Thanks for the reply.

    The new site has been moved to its live configuration – however with Maintenance on. I have checked and the page/theme setups are identical.
    However, the page content does not display (though the magazine template is loaded, because the widget displays), and the ‘home’ menu item is NOT highlighted (though it it mapped to the correct page).

    The difference between the sites is that WP was installed in a wp/ directory on the dev server, then migrated (using updraft migrator) to the live site where WP was installed on the root. That’s the only thing I can think of. The migrator tools fixed all the paths but may of missed something?

    The live site is now on https://www.oxfordcyclingclub.co.uk/ but the problem persists – I have used a text widget for some temporary text.

    Hi Wondering if there is any solution to this? Still no joy, no page content being shown within the Magazine template. Site is live (with some text in a widget as a substitute).

    Hi there,

    The Magazine template only shows the widget area, but not the actual page content.

    That is not a bug, that is just how the Magazine Homepage template is designed. It is not possible to show any normal text there, only widgets.

    If you want a normal static page I recommend to assign the default template.

    The Magazine template is designed to show the Magazine widgets, which allow you to highlight the posts from various categories and create a magazine-styled website.
