Design Questions

I’m wondering if there is any way I can add a logo, some other picture, a search bar, or possible ad in the free space by my website name. The template I’m using only has sidebar widgets available and nothing for the header or top bar, so it’s not so easy for me to just drag and drop a widget into that area.

Also, for my top header (i.e. where the About/Contact, Excel Templates, etc. are), it would be great if I could include a subscribe button there rather than on the left sidebar. Is there code I can use to do this so that it works with my existing blog subscription functionality?
