[description] This value should not be blank.

Hello, I notice that I have all my product sheets which give me the following message: [description] This value should not be blank. yet everything is full!
What to do ?
-
The error message you’re seeing suggests that you need to add content in the description field of your product – it’s a mandatory field. However, if you don’t want to add any content to the product description, there’s a workaround.
I suggest you use this code snippet. It will force the Google Listings & Ads plugin to sync your product’s short description as the product description.
yet everything is full!
Do you use a page builder to add content, or could you explain how you added content to the description field? Could you also share a product link for us to review?
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Hello, thank you for your response, I use Wpbakery for the content of my product sheets.
I implemented the code (code snippet) but I still get the message.
Hi @pclandofficiel,
If I understand correctly, you’re using WP Visual Bakery to craft your products, correct? In this case the GLA plugin can’t find the description or the short description to pass it over to Google. Can you share a screenshot of what you see when you edit your products in the WordPress back end? Please include as many screenshots as necessary to cover the whole edit product page in WP (not the visual editor from WP Bakery).
Thanks!
-OPhello, here is an example that I edit a product sheet .
On the product sheet, I have this:
I’m going to add a space then delete it in the content of my product sheet, save it, and I have this
We see that the module does its job correctly!
I waited a few minutes then :
Hello BoutiquePcLanD
Thank you for your reply.
The problem is that the GLA extension is not able to detect the Product Description because you are adding the product information inside WP Bakery builder.
You need to click on the Edit button that opens the default product editor.
And then add the Product Description like this:
I will also suggest contacting WP Bakery Builder support and asking them about this issue.
They may be able to guide you on how to make Google detect the product description while using the WP Bakery editor.Let me know if you can fix this by following my suggested steps.
I am here for your assistance. ??Best regards.
Hello, I understand well how to make a product sheet!, but tell me I am not the developer of Google listings and ads and even less of WpBackery, it will be more up to the manager of Google listings and ads to see with Wpbackery to find compatibility?
Nothing bad, but understand that I am not responsible for the incompatibility of two modules!
Hey, @pclandofficiel!
Nothing bad, but understand that I am not responsible for the incompatibility of two modules!
I apologize if it seemed like we were implying that.
The responsibility for assuring compatibility is WpBackery’s. We were just sharing a possible workaround so it would work on your website ??
it will be more up to the manager of Google listings and ads to see with Wpbackery to find compatibility?
Please note we are not able to reach out to the third-party plugin directly. We recommend that you please contact their support so they are aware of the issue and can work on it, if being compatible with Google Listings and Ads is something they want.
I hope this was clarifying. Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help or if you have any questions.
Have a wonderful day!
I figured it out using my own knowledge, but now I get this:
I analyze my site and:
no problem !
Due to my good knowledge of the module (Google listing and Ads) I still go to the Google wicked center site:
But what to think? It’s still a warning, but hey!
I test the url https://www.boutique-pcland.fr/produit/beem-on-station-solaire-460-wc/ to see if UTF-8 is on the page!
UTF 8 is declared on the url !
Hello BoutiquePcLanD
Thank you for your reply..
Just to confirm, were you able to find what caused the “Invalid UTF-8 encoding” warning?
And were you able to fix that?I also did some search and found this guide from Google.
I hope this helps. ??Best regards.
What is strange is that the “beem on extension” product sheet is similar and poses no problem compared to the “beem on solar station” product sheet unfortunately, I cannot resolve this at the moment.
I test the url https://www.boutique-pcland.fr/produit/beem-on-station-solaire-460-wc/ to see if UTF-8 is on the page!
It’s because of the tools you used to test the check
<meta charset="UTF-8">
tag on the header section. But the text you’ve added with your page builder may not be encoding the text in UTF-8 format, which could likely be the reason for the new issue you’re experiencing.By the way, can you help me understand how you resolved the description error? Are you using the short description, or are you still syncing the long description? If you’re still syncing the long description instead of the short one, it seems like this issue might be related to the page builder you’re using.
As I suggested earlier, you can resolve all your issues using the product short description you’ve already added without any page builder. To do so, just add this code snippet to your child theme’s function.php file.
I hope this provides some clarity. Please let us know if you have any other questions!
Hello, by default, it is the long description which has priority, once I put the snipper code, I no longer have the error with UTF-8.
What’s strange is that with this product sheet, all the others, I don’t get the message.
I’m glad to hear that the code snippet has resolved the UTF-8 error. As for the discrepancy in product sheets, it’s possible that the content in the “beem on solar station” product sheet is not encoded in UTF-8 format, even though the rest of your site is.
If the error does not appear on other product sheets, it could be something specific to the content or formatting of this particular product sheet. I would suggest reviewing the content and formatting of the “beem on solar station” product sheet to ensure it aligns with the other product sheets on your site.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or if there’s anything else I can assist you with.
Cheers! ??
Hi there ?? ,
We haven’t heard from you in a while; this is to check if you’ve been able to proceed with the troubleshooting steps provided before and if you still need help.
Thanks!
