Description of Images

  • Hello, I have a question. When we download images to media library, I want to fill the caption automatically like “Image description, by author, unsplash”. This way, when the image is added to a post, it shows automatically the caption under image on post page, which makes it easy to show credits. Otherwise i have to add manually the caption to show it to the visitors.

    @wehavehulk You will have to manually create your caption using the Edit button found on each image prior to upload.

    There is not a filter currently to add bylines though that would be nice.

    Thanks for quick answer. I was talking about the description of the photo comes within the results of unsplash api which is actually written by the owner of that specific photo on unsplash. Yes, would be great actually.

    I love the plugin, but it really would be nice that the photos would be uploaded with all the details from the photos.

    Another feature could the description displayed when browsing the photos.

    Anyway, I love the plugin as it is already, but looking for the description and adding to the photos is really troublesome.

    @demianmoura I’ve thought above adding the descriptions from the Unsplash API, but I’m just not sure it’s totally valuable to the majority of users.

    For example, this photo. The description is:

    “Normally I hate doing photos like this outside, since every few minutes people walk by and seem irritated about what the heck I am doing out there. This time was no exception.”

    Why would you want this attached to your media library?

    Also, most photos do not have descriptions.
