• I currently have the latest version of Catablog and it is a very nice product. But, it seems like I may have something incorrectly set, or not activated, as the image descriptions do not appear on mouse over, or when clicked on which activates the LightBox.

    The site in question is https://www.dunestosea.com and it is the images located in each sub-menu.

    I searched the list of pre-existing issues, but could not locate something that would give me clues on how to resolve my problem.

    Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

    I believe the correct term to use for the images would be thumbnails.

    Thanks.

    Hi red_wings, please read through this troubleshooting tutorial. Let me know if it helps you.

    If the above does not solve your issue can you read the following tutorial.

    Kind regards

    I believe I am really close to resolving …. or completely off.

    All the settings in <catablog> —> <options> —> <description> are correct as noted in the tutorial.

    In <catablog> —> <library> I put the word “Beach House” in the HTML editor with the first image. I expected it to display. It does not display when viewing the website. It was added to thumbnail “St Peters Exterior View 1”, which should be the first image for the first cottage in the menu.

    The catablog appears to function normally besides this “description problem”. I even managed change the thumbnails to display in multiple columns by following the tutorial and editing the CSS file.

    But for this missing description problem, which I would think would be easier to fix, is quite elusive. Any idea what I am overlooking?

    Thank you for your time.

    Hi red_wings, can you share with me the shortcode you are using to display your items?

    Can you also perform a test? Disable all plugins except CataBlog and enable one by one checking to see if the description appears.

    You are also using the following theme customtheme. Is this theme a custom made theme or is that just the name of the theme?

    Kind regards

    mbrsolution,

    I apologize for ignorance about in refence to code. I am learning though. Where exactly would I find the short code you are asking about?

    By using the Editor in WordPress, I found the following code in the catablog/css/catablog.css, but is says the file is “inactive”. This is the first time I have noticed this. Why would this be?

    }
    .catablog-row .catablog-description {
    display: block;
    clear: none;
    float: none;
    }
    .catablog-row .catablog-description:after {
    content: “.”;
    display: block;
    clear: both;
    height: 0px;
    visibility: hidden;
    }

    Also, it seems that deactivating Plugins and then testing by reactivating each one by one did not show any change in catablog not displaying the description.

    Finally, for the “Custom Theme”, I know the designer created this to give the necessary functionality to the site. It should be an actual custom theme.

    Hi red_wings, can you try and change the theme and use one of WordPress default themes just for testing?

    Where exactly would I find the short code you are asking about?

    The shortcode is what you add to each page or post to display your items. That is the shortcode that I would like to see if you don’t mind. Have a read through this tutorial to understand how to add the chortcode.

    I have also notice that you are still running WordPress 3.4.2. Have you thought of upgrading to the latest version for security and stability reasons? Running version 3.4.2 could also be the problem.

    Kind regards

    I will test the default theme just for a test. I just want to make sure that I would not mess something up that would irreversible.

    Below are the specific short codes I use for the different pages with the catablog images.
    [catablog_gallery id=”382″]
    [catablog_gallery id=”397″]
    [catablog_gallery id=”369″]
    [catablog_gallery id=”339″]
    [catablog_gallery id=”383″]
    [catablog_gallery id=”384″]
    And as explained above, of course, each short code is on a separate page.

    Once again, your time and effort are appreciated.

    Hi red_wings, I will wait to hear from you in regards to the default theme.

    Kind regards
