    Hello,
I was wrinting you two weeks ago with this topic title: Title, description: tested my page by lighthouse and bing webmaster (i use yoast). Regarding to your solution, I should delete from the head section the descriptiom meta tag, if I use Yoast SEO. Otherwise will be duplicate meta tags on my website. Meanwhile I was writing to Google Lighthouse the same issue, and they wrote me: “The meta description needs to be in <head> for the audit to pass.”
How is correct if I use Yoast SEO? Could you, please help me.
Thank you in advance, Maria Szabo

@mareszke Yoast SEO should automatically generate a meta description for the pages on your site.

We checked on your site and inspected the source code but we are not seeing a meta description being output for the pages.

Can you please let us know how you are removing the meta description from the page?

i don’t know if i remove the meta description in any form, I don’t understand your quaestion. In which kind of form can be removed from SEO settings at all? Or from anywhere else?

How could be possible that the bing webmaster tool in this form does not indicate that the meta description is missing???

    Hi @mareszke

Bing Webmaster tools results aren’t real-time so it can only show the results it found when it last crawled your site.

Just to clarify, we don’t suggest deleting your <head> section or removing any descriptions from your Yoast SEO settings. We recommend only removing the duplicated meta. See screenshots: duplicated meta tags and the Yoast SEO meta tags.

From a previous issue you posted:

Duplicate titles could be caused by your active theme or a third-party plugin on your site.

If you have more than one title meta tag, please run a conflict check to determine what other feature on your site outputs the duplicate title(s). You can learn more about it here — https://yoast.com/help/my-seo-title-isnt-displayed-as-i-have-entered-it/#source-code

Is your theme or another plugin adding these meta tags? You can find out which one is doing this by checking for conflicts.

This means temporarily deactivating all plugins except for Yoast SEO and switching to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty-One. You can then activate your plugins and switch themes one by one to identify the source of the problem in the page source.

    Hi @priscillamc ,
Thanks for the help. The problem seems to be caused by another extension. I write to them. I am sorry, I’m still in the learning phase. Thank you for your patience.
    Best regards, Maria
