Description lenght longer? possible?

Not a good approach, hacking core files. I’d rather suggest you look for a different solution, e.g. by using the Notes field instead, for longer texts, and call that in your template(s).

The 255 character limit is set in the database. From what I can tell, depending on your mySQL version (5.0.3+) you could change the length to be between 0 to 65,535. I’m not sure (but doubt) if WP checks the character limit before saving to the database.

yeah I know it’s not “a good approach” but I can’t seem to find the call in wp_list_bookmarks for notes. hence why I was using the description.

Any ideas?

well i still had to hack a couple line of code to make the option show_notes=true functionnal….
