The current description editor will keep the copied text format, which will make the description words’ format confusing. Especially for the different users, they may use different description word format. What should I do to change it to a simpler text-edit box, or could you add a setting options to choice simpler editbox to make the description text unified for every user?

Thanks for your feedback. I’ll make some necessary changes/options to the plugin so it will be possible to prevent such scenario from happening. It could take a week or two to be ready.

    Dear author @anssilaitila :
Recently, in order to preview office documents, I am trying to use the plgin, embedded any document. Suddenly, I am excited by a idea that can we combine the office online preview function with “shared files”? Because currently shared files can only preview PDF files. Embedded any document calls Google Docs Viewer and Microsoft office to preview office documents, moreover, I found some valuable open source projects for preview office, and Microsoft also has related services https://view.officeapps.live.com/op/view.aspx, etc.I wonder if shared files can add the function of office online preview, which will be a great progress and greatly extend the application scenarios of shared files.Do you have plans to implement this function and when will it be implemented? Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Best wishes!

    Hi,

This sounds like a good idea and I’ll definitely see what I can do about it. Maybe the Google Docs Viewer would be a good start since it seems to be easy to implement for the plugin and it supports Office documents also (at least some of them).

@anssilaitila Absolutely right! In fact, as long as word / ppt / Excel can preview, it can meet most of the requirements. Have you decided to implement this feature? And how long do you think it will take?

@anssilaitila I was very so excited to hear this news! And immediately tested the plug-in, but the website file still can’t be previewed. What’s the problem? Can this problem be corrected? Moreover, I found that it is invalid to disable the feature image in the settings after adding the feature image to the file, but this is a very small problem and does not affect the use. (the test website is: https://www.bjfengnong.com/mytestpage ).Thank you very much!

@anssilaitila I tested the problem, maybe this problem is caused by the difference between upload file URL and preview file URL ($file)_ URL). I found that the upload file location is https://www.bjfengnong.com/wp-content/uploads/shared-files/excel测试.xlsx, then the URL https://docs.google.com/viewer?embedded=true&url=https://www.bjfengnong.com/wp-content/uploads/shared-files/excel测试.xlsx can be previewed. But in fact, code “URLEncode (get_ site_ url() . $file_ URL)” uses https://docs.google.com/viewer?embedded=true&url=https://www.bjfengnong.com/shared-files/2688/excel测试.xlsx, which can’t be previewed, even if I changed “WordPress location” to “/wp-content/uploads/shared-files/” in setting , because there are also differences between the two URLs (the latter has folder 2688).
I don’t know if this is a problem with my website settings or if there is a bug in the file path system of the plug-in
