    @cmitchell711 – The description will only appear under the thumbnails when you use the “caption” template … as to the Lightbox, not all of the bundled Lightbox libraries display the same details, have you tried different ones?

    You are also welcome to use an external Lightbox Effect as we only bundle the ones with NextGEN Gallery as a convenience.
