    OS Linux
    Server Apache
    PHP 5.6.17
    MYSQL 10.0.26-MariaDB

    Wordpress Version 4.7.2

    From what I’ve read if you are using PHP 5.5 or higher it would handle switching to mysqli?

    This is a vanilla install freshly downloaded no theme or plugins installed.
