    Hi P?r,

Since upgrading to WordPress 4.9, we started getting this deprecated function notice. It should be relatively easy to fix.

[20-Nov-2017 11:22:43 UTC] PHP Notice: get_screen_icon is deprecated since version 3.8.0 with no alternative available. in /home/xxx/example.com/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3840

I have also sent you an email with more details.

  • same here, but if you choose to set the debug mode to false, these notices won’t appear, but that’s not a solution to the problem

I have actually fixed it before 1.5, by removing the code in the plugin. Version 1.5 didn’t fix it, I thought the author might have spotted it. The plugin has been abandoned, based on the GitHub repository.

@eskapism: Can I take over the plugin and update it?

It doesn’t look like the plugin is abandoned, since it was updated in January 2018.

The call is on line 1228 of functions.php. While the error is minor, it’s annoying and that line can safely be removed.
