Good work with the Pos System. Seems to be the best one I’ve found.
We are trying to build a web-based solution for an internal shop of our brewery.
Because I live in Germany we have “Flachenpfand”. Which means u get a small deposit back if you return the bottle.
I tried to implement it with a negative price in woocommerce but that didn’t work.
Using a discount works but it is quite the hassle.

Adding one Little Bug Report. Im using the german localisation/translation of WordPress/Woocommerce. If try to put in a discount, the decimal separator is displayed as a “,”(correct in german) but it expects the english standard “.”. So i have to use a keyboard.

It would be awesome if you can help me or implement a solution.

  • Hello @petgel

wePOS doesn’t have any fature for getting a small deposit back if someone return bottles at this moment. I’m not sure if there is any way to do that in WooCommerce. Discount is the best way so far in that case.

The deciam separator gets based on the localization. In Europe, it should be ‘,’ by default and it’s really not possible to have the decimal separator with ‘.’ if your site is in German Language or localized in German.

    Thanks

    Hi @thebengalboy,

thanks for the fast reply. A negative price works in wordpress. It gets displayed as 0€ but it works as a negative price if you want to pay. It just doesnt go under 0€. Because of that i thought it was possible.
It works in other pos. But they lack features we would like to have

And the decimal separator problem was my fault. It was a problem with my language installation. I used the german translation but it still expected the “.”.

    Hello @petgel

I’m not sure about the other POS you mentioned but wePOS doesn’t offer anything for negative amounts or for ‘get a small deposit back if you return the bottle’ at this moment.

While there’s currently no way to do that, we appreciate you taking the time to let us know what you’re looking for — most of the improvements we make come from ideas and suggestions like yours, so thank you for reaching out ??
