• We are consistently asked about how to deploy WordPress to Amazon Web Services EC2 and RDS. I wrote a blog post a few weeks back and thought this would be a good place to to help some WordPress users who are interested in using the platform in the elastic cloud.

We use AWS ElasticBeanstalk for most setups as it allows for simple version control and elastic scaling based on different metrics like CPU, Memory, and many others.

I hope this helps some of you out who are interested in giving it a shot.

  • How does it handle the different domains within the different databases?

I have a staging and and a live WordPress site. The staging database cannot just overwrite the live database because of the domain settings being different between them.

How is this being handled within AWS if I use the elastic beanstalk deployment?
