I have been playing about this afternoon for several hours with a view to buying a pro licence to fully test, and if good, an agency licence depending on price.

However I cannot see me buying even a single pro licence. The idea is excellent and in places its very good, but after working on a slide for an hour or so, depicter decided to crop all the pictures I used instead of resziing them, is filling my uploads box with every resize it has made and so the round png images I made have been cropped as square. I even made images the exact size I need and overwrote the resized image in my directory and depicter STILL over wrote it.

I don’t understand why the css cannot just resize the slider responsively rather than making loads of different sizes, and then cropping the image.

If it isn’t depicter, it is reacting with something else, but I have been using Crelly slider for years and never had this issue.

This is much more intuitive and had more effects and features thean Crelly but the results are very disappointing.

I have used all Browsers, Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Waterfox and the cropping issue appears in all of them.

I haven’t provided a link as I have uninstalled it and will come back later when more bugs have been ironed out. There are far too many for it to have been rolled out with a Pro version.

    Dear @blackdiamondswd, ?
I am sorry but we missed your ticket, sorry about that.
We checked Depicter in all the situations and I would like to say Depicter works the way we expected with not issue with resizing the image.
May I ask you to give us more details on the steps you have done to generate the issue?

Looking forward to hearing back from you
    Regards

    Hello

No worries I have already uninstalled it and gone back to Crelly as I needed to get finished. I haven’t done anythng to ‘generate’ the issue. I put the images in… they are round… worked initally, then it seems to generate many sizes of the same image, all cropped leaving the image I posted. I have no issues with any other plug-ins installed, the sizes of the displayed images are correct it just used cropped images. I don’t understand why same image isn’t just resized using css.

Hello again. ?Thank you for getting back to us. ? ?That is exactly what we tested to see the problem that you mentioned, but everything worked fine. There is no unwanted cropping. But we are listening to your feedback and looking forward to finding out what was happing on your website. Maybe it was a special situation or something like that. ?
It would be great if you can give Depicter another try and share your new experience with us

When I get time I’ll try again on a test site. What about the number of images it generates in media folder ? Is that normal ?

I’ve tried it again on a different site (test site) and its doing the same thng again, everytime I resize an image in depicter it seems to be generating a thumbnail and cropping it.

Also is depicter compatible with php 8.0 ? I tried upgrading my php on the same test site and got a crtitical error. I disabled all the plugins, only 4, and when i switched depicter on it got the cirtical error. I have now switched it off and error gone.

Having similar issue–image sizes are not scaling down. Can you look into this?

I’m having the exact same issue. Have spent/wasted a number of hours trying to resolve the issue. The preview version works fine, so I hope you’re not just looking there to see if it works. When I refresh the page it suddenly has cropped the image. I spend the next 30 mins to try and get to work and it eventually does only to break the second you want to make a slight adjustment. The image is placed onto a video.

    Same issue here. Very annoying

Looks like they have given up even replying.

I had the same problem. But there is no solution , he wasted a long time of my repeated adjustments. I hope there is an official answer to the solution

    i’m having the same issue

This is happening to me too, and despite what Depicter say it is happening for almost everyone. They have made this slider so complex, and the basics are being overlooked.

I have found a fix. After you have resized, right-click and press ‘Reset Crop’ – that will sort it out. It doesn’t always save like that though, you may need to do that a couple times. Works though as a quick fix. come on Depicter sort it out.

I’m also having the same issue. Making a slight change to a slide crops the images. Getting ready to ditch Depicter if they can’t recognize and fix the issue.

    Hey @averta

I don’t appreciate that this has gone unresolved for @blackdiamondswd

As a product manager is this lacking a follow up (on your support ticket) even if it’s not a priority or getting any amount of post or comments from users. The fact that things get done before it becomes a bigger problem – is worthy of looking into.

I’m sure this might be affecting a larger audience who had been subject to migrate away from Master Slider to Depicter to find out it’s not doing what you see in the preview. It’s just lacking on the team to remedy this matter swiftly.

I’m experiencing the same issue and I’m not even cropping that image.

    Please find my post here

Long since given up on this…. ‘Support’ is a joke. Absolute cobblers of a product and non-existent support has already made this obsolete. Don’t wast a single second further of your life.
