Dependency conflict (Swift Mailer) in WP Cassify plugin

    We are trying to update to MailPoet 3 because MailPoet 2 generates errors under PHP 7.3. However, we cannot activate MailPoet 3 because of a conflict with an essential plugin – WP Cassify.

    MailPoet Error: MailPoet has detected a dependency conflict (\Swift_Mailer) with another plugin (…/wp-content/plugins/wp-cassify/classes/vendor/swiftmailer/swiftmailer/lib/classes/Swift/Mailer.php), which may cause unexpected behavior. Please disable the offending plugin to fix this issue.

    We, of course, cannot disable our single-sign-on plugin.

  • Hi if I look at the error, then you seem to have another mailprogram active!. That is what you need to disable, not your single login!

    Yes, as the title and topic tags suggest, it is the presence of Swift Mailer that MailPoet 3 does not like. Unfortunately, Swift Mailer is a dependency of our single-sign-on plugin.

    Did you try to switch the swift mailer of, install mailpoet and switch back on swift mailer. And then test what happens ?
    Possibly it works without problems.
    My guess is that the signon problem, does use swift mailer to send messages if someone causes a problem with login. You could check if you can change the default mailer, after you have installed mailpoet.

    Unfortunately, there are Composer dependencies for Swift Mailer in WP Cassify that makes its removal problematic. I will see if the plugin author for WP Cassify can fix this, otherwise I will need to hack the plugin before I can move to MailPoet 3.

    The main reason why I mentioned it in the forum for this plugin is because MailPoet 2 was fine with it, but MailPoet 3 won’t even activate.
