Demo not importing – SVGs show broken

I have installed the plugin, I even tried installing it manually via FTP, I do see the SVG files in the folders but when loading the plugin. the SVG are all broken..

I go to appearance > import demo data
Click import button at bottom.
I see image boxes with missing icons. I then tried to ignore and import.. , but it hangs on next page… say inporting.. but nothing happens.. no animation…
