The user should be able to leave notes after they’ve logged into PayPal and are returned back to the site. Would that work, or maybe I don’t fully understand what you’re trying to do..??

Hi. Sorry for the poor question. Basically my customers want to add information e.g. Deliver after 2PM etc.

I thought it might be my theme but I tried go through the steps in template debug but it’s not there with the latest WooCommerce.

It looks like it skips this step. I think this option is on the shipping page which Paypal Express skips.

When going through Express Checkout the customer would have the option to leave notes on the PayPal page. Take a look at this screenshot for review: https://fiber.angelleye.com/temp/express-checkout-notes.jpg

That should then carry into the WooCommerce order.

    Thanks for your help ??

Is there any way to pass this value to the invoice? I currently have the invoices printed so I can pick the items from the invoice.

I notice it is currently coming through in the array as e.g.
[NOTE] => Broccoli instead of carrots please ;)

Right…so you’re saying that’s not getting added into the WC order notes..?? It should be. If not, then I’ll have to go ahead and add that as an issue for an upcoming update release.

Yes. I think Paypal may have changed a value or something. As it was working fine without anything needing to be upgraded, then it just stopped recently.

You don’t see PAYMENTREQUEST_0_NOTETEXT in the array?

    Yes. I have that twice…
[PAYMENTREQUEST_0_NOTETEXT] => Broccoli instead of carrots please ;)
But it doesn’t seem to come through on the WooCommerce invoice.

I just ran a test here and it seems to have come through just fine. Check this screenshot: https://fiber.angelleye.com/temp/woocommerce-paypal-customer-notes.jpg.

It would be the very first note added to the order, so it shows up at the bottom.

    Hi Angelleye,
I am getting it come through in the back end, but it seems independent of WooCommerce’s invoices that are sent to the customer.

Do you know if there a way to pass this value to a custom field so it can be used to show on the non-payal invoice or a 3rd party invoice plugin?

Also, what is your donation link? You have been most helpful!

Right now all it does it saved to the WC order notes. I do think it would be nicer as an actual meta value on the order, and I’m going to add that as an issue in our 1.1.6.4 update.

A donation would be much appreciated, thank you! You may use this URL for that: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=SG9SQU2GBXJNA

I’m going to go ahead and mark this resolved, but just keep your eye on those updates. We’re doing our best to get them ready asap!
