• I am new to using WP. I used a tutorial video on youtube on how to set up WP, however, I have learned of a new way though Firezilla’s file mgmt. system and thought that might be more effective (still unsure).
The issue is I would have to install WP from scratch to set it up with the Firezilla’s filing system, I believe. So, basically, I just wanted to delete everything I have done up until now on my domain and start fresh again, meaning re-registering with WP, etc.
I am not sure if I am making sense to anyone, but I am just trying to start the whole process over.
Anyone that has an idea on how to do this, please let me know.
    Thanks!

  • So a complete restart?

You can delete all the wordpress files from the server

But you’ll also want to “drop” (delete) the database. This will require you to get access to the database to issue the proper command. There is no undo at this point – once the database is gone, there’s no more WordPress site.

Once that’s done, you have *completely* removed WordPress from your server.

To re-start, you will need to upload the WordPress files to your server, create a new database on the server, and then just follow the instructions in the WordPress readme.html file. You should soon have a new WordPress site.

Thank you for your quick reply. If there’s a way to not delete it and attach it to Filezilla, than I could probably just do that, I am just not sure which one is less work.
    Thanks again!

I would recommend trying to install the filezilla one in a subfolder (www.domain.com/wordpress) that way if things go south, you always have your current fall back. It’s a lot easier to host in a subdirectory then to screw on the main one (trust me from experience).

There is no such “thing” as the FileZilla “file system” ??

FileZilla shows the file system of your computer on the left and the file system of the remote host on the right.

You never mentioned if you managed to get WP installed already using the video tutorial. If so, great!
