Deleting widget

In setting up a site for a friend, a search widget shows up in the header (where I don’t want it). Theoretically, this should be easy to get rid of – I should simply be able to go to my widgets page and pull that out of the header box.

But – when I look at the header box, there is no search widget in there to take out. I’m using the same theme (Suffusion) on another site and don’t remember having this problem. Any ideas?
