I just barely started using the image upload in WP 2.0 and my first image was a test image that I now want deleted. There does not seem to be an easy way of doing this. I dug through my file directory and noticed that the file was under wp-content/uploads/year/month but when I delete it and check my WP again the picture is gone but i have one of those boxes with an “x” in it and no image. I’m thinking I may have not done this right so I placed the file back. What is the correct way of deleting an uploaded image?

  • if you mouse over the thumbnail image in the browser, you will get a menu that allows you to delete the image from there. I am refering to the browsing window on the edit page of a post.

If I am understanding you correctly I navigate to the “browse all” option in the upload section then mouse over the thumbnail to see an option to delete, correct? I have done so and I do not get any option to delete. I tried also right clicking over the image and no option to delete is there. Please let me know if I am messing around in the wrong section.
