Deleting Uncategorized Category

  • How do I delete the uncategorized category? In my dashboard under Posts->Categories, I have the option to delete every category other than “uncategorized”, so how do I do this?

    On my site: https://fantasybaseballinsiders.com/, it shows there are 245 entries under ‘uncategorized” when there are actually none, which is somewhat annoying. Any ideas?

  • You can’t delete this category. Its WordPress default category since there must be one when you write a post. You can rename it though.

    Thanks for the tip. I’ve changed the “uncategorized” catergory to “featured”, but now it shows there are 251 entries in this category, when there are only 3. What’s up with that?
