    Hello,
Recently i deleted about 100 articles from my blog. Then i went to Media and found out that i had 1000 files, where 997 were images and 447 were unattached. Can i safely delete all the unattached images? Also, it says that my Theme.zip file is unattached. Can i delete it as well?

I just checked one site and confirmed what concerned me when I read your question: an Unattached image may be in use on your site. The one I found was the home page header pic.

Thinking about it, I realize that another site I support has lots of hard-coded links to pictures that aren’t attached to any specific page or post.

In your case, the only way to avoid any risk of deleting something you need would be to have a time machine and go back and make a list of the unattached images BEFORE you deleted the 100 articles. Then, after deleting the 100 articles, to delete all the unattached images that were NOT on that list you made up.
