• I’m new to using WordPress as a builder.

I installed this theme and am trying to customize it.

Is it me or can you not truly customize it?

I’m trying to just delete the title on the top of the page — “blog” — and I cannot figure out how to do it.

It asked if I wanted to add a page banner. Why, yes, that is exactly what I’d like to do on this page. It also asks me if I want to make the title text “light” or “dark” but it does not ask me if I want to remove it entirely…!

I can’t click on the word itself to edit it.

I have looked through every clickable option in the customization sidebar and there does not appear a way to do this seemingly simple thing.

I have gone back to the dashboard to see if there’s another way to get at it. I cannot find one.

Someone please tell me I’m missing something obvious because I’m about to ditch this theme. Maybe WordPress altogether. It’s feeling too hand-holdy.

Thanks, in advance, for any help ??

    Hi @mstissa

I’m assuming you’re on GutenBooster theme. So Page Banner works like this: It takes your page title as the page banner title, and if it’s your blog, it only prints “Blog” on your page and that is the only text that is not replacable.

Otherwise Page Banner will take your page title as the heading inside it. We’re exploring ways to extend the features of page banners in the theme but this is how it works for now.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks!

So even though the template asks if you want to add a banner, it won’t get rid of the text OVER the banner?

That’s a strange oversight. It also makes the template useless for me. I don’t want my custom banner to have the word BLOG awkwardly over it.

    Anyway, thanks for your reply.
