    Hi Jacques,
If I login as a normal user, I can’t remove all the sent messages (to other users). For some of them a red “X” appears and I can remove them. But for many other messages, I can’t. They are just sitting there.
I don’t know if it is also a problem for received messages, but definitely for sent messages it is an issue.

I am using an older version of Rencontre so maybe this is fixed; but if not, could you please check it out and fix it in the next updates?

    Thanks
    Sanjay

    I Sanjay,

You can delete a send msg if the recipient has deleted the message.
For the recipient, the msg is just marked as removed.
For your deletion, it’s a real deletion. No trace on the server.

I followed this logic to be clear with personal data.
    We can improve that.

    Hi J,
Ok, sure…I think the scheme should be the same as in Email (I am increasingly using the Inbox of my site to communicate with my users, is far easier than trying to email them).

Ideally should be like an email-where my email is determined by me (Inbox, Sent) and has nothing to do with the action of the other person (their Inbox, Sent, etc. is theirs).

The problem is happening when a user has sent many messages…it is just a very long, long long list of message. One possibility is to remove them after 1 month automatically; this is what Match.com used to do.

The other option would be to have just a fixed number of messages, say 100 maximum, in the Sent folder.

Otherwise a person who sends lots of messages will have a very very long screen scroll…:)
