    Hi,

We run a WooCommerce store whereby we sell products which are end of line and may have 1 or 2 of each item in stock.

We constantly have out of stock products which we won’t ever get back in stock. As we don’t want to fill our shop up with hundreds of out of stock products we normally have a procedure whereby we leave the products out of stock for a few weeks and then delete them.

After doing research online it appears deleting products is not the correct procedure due to SEO reasons.

Just looking for some advice, would you guys personally delete the old products after a few weeks of being out of stock or would you just keep them indefinitely and let the out of stock products build up?

  • I keep them and even let people order if i have similar to propose (i just tell them after order that suddenly supplier discontinued the product).

If you dont want that they order out of stock products, just declare them out of stock, but never delete anything.

    Hey @s0anes,

Personally, I prefer to keep them around. When they are deleted, it can make existing orders less clear.

You can set them to be out of stock. You can also remove the prices. That would keep customers from being able to order them again. You can also set them to be “Hidden” so that someone would have to visit the product’s URL directly to be able to see it at all.
