Deleting Pages / Redirects and More :)

Ok so first thank you for making this plugin available!! This is my first time using it so I have please a couple of quick questions…

Once I create the new page and generate the redirect can I delete the original page with the old slug? How long do I need to keep that redirect alive? Will there be a point at which my pages are indexed and I’m good to remove the plugin or do the plugin and those redirects have to live on my site forever? Thanks!!
