Deleting original image deletes optimised image

  • Hi,
    I the latest update it states: Image Optimize?Removing original image will also remove optimized images.

    So what happens to the optimised image that is used in posts?
    Why are we being forced to keep the original image on the server? I’ve got over 12,000 images and keep our originals offline because of the amount of space they take up on our server that we need to pay for, which is why we have removed the originals.

    that was to address an issue where you delete an image in Media page , the .bk.jpg file was not removed

    in case you want to remove original backup , you can either 1) in setting set Remove Original Backups ON ,or 2) in image optm summary -> Remove Original Image Backups

    Hi,

    I have a similar issue, and using “Remove Original Image Backups” doesn’t remove the original backups. The cycle runs, nothing happens, even the number of files does not change.

    Please advise as this does not seem to be the intended functionality.
