Deleting old log records

I have set my log expiry to 2 months, but the wp_redirection_404 and wp__redirection_logs tables still have almost 40,000 records left over from the previous year.

I read on another thread that WP Cron will slowly remove those old records. However, we have disabled WP Cron and are using manual cron jobs on our server.

Is it safe to delete all records in those logs and start logging again, up to 2 months?
