Deleting iThemes Security Plugin. If I delete it will it cause problems?

  • I have a question, if I deactivate and completely delete the iThemes Security WordPress Plugin (the free version) by deleting it will this cause problems for me down the line? Did iThemes Security Plugin change any of my files (salts, user id’s etc) that by deleting it might cause issue later?
    I dont remember where but I think I read that by simply deleting the iThemes Security Plugin it does NOT revert any of the things it changed and by removing the plugin one could never by able to fully revert to before iThemes Security days.
    If so, how could I delete iThemes Security in a safe a proper manner?
    I wanted to remove it from just one of my sites.

  • Hi,

    Disabling and deleting it will revert the majority of the features. However, there are some changes that will not be reverted by doing this, such as changing the wp-content directory name, admin ID and username. But if this hasn’t caused you any trouble, it will not in the future either.

    I have uninstalled the plugin and clean the database as well but ithemes changes all the usernames to be the same. Worried about this matter.

    Can i completely reset the plugin.
