Deletes your site’s settings during Migration Process

  • This plugin does a REALLY great job at what it says it does -it migrates your product listings and vendors over to WCFM very very easily.

    However, just a word of caution: it also deletes all of your previous database entries for your prior marketplace plugin.

    I couldn’t figure out if WCFM marketplace had all of the features I needed from reading through all of the documentation so I decided to install it to see.

    Turns out it doesn’t have everything that I personally need so I reverted back to my old plugin only to find that all of my vendor shops were gone. Fortunately I did back up my database and was able to restore those tables again.

    So be careful when installing this, migrating with this particular plugin is not reversible as I assumed from my experiences with other migration tools.

    That’s great to know that you have tried this tool.

    Well, it never delete any setting or data for your old multi-vendor plugin.

    Turns out it doesn’t have everything that I personally need so I reverted back to my old plugin only to find that all of my vendor shops were gone.

    – Now why this? When you migrate then old vendors are now change to “Store Vendor”, you may check this from wp-admin -> Users.

    If you want to run your old multi-vendor again then you have to change those vendor’s user role back to previous multi-vendor plugin’s user role.

    Hope you understand it’s not possible to keep support two multi-vendors at the same time.

    So be careful when installing this, migrating with this particular plugin is not reversible as I assumed from my experiences with other migration tools.

    – I am agree with you, this tool is for one way migration. This does not come with reverse-back option!
