Deletes Upload Folders Content

  • At first I thought this was great… Ran a second run of optimization and then realized the plugin was deleting all images in upload folders. Fortunately, I was watching the progress and checking posts to see if the page speeds were improving – only to see broken image links!!

    Went into uploads folders for specific posts times and saw that all images were gone! Deleted completely! Only way to stop it was to deactivate the plugin – did not see any pause processing button in admin. Good thing I did or I think every image on my site “might” have been deleted. While I can’t say that is the case for sure… that is what appeared to be happening and good thing I caught it.

    And this was on the paid subscription. Cancelled it and will not be reinstalling this plugin again. Makes me wonder how good their other apps actually are.

    100% not impressed!

    We’re sorry to hear about your experience, and we’d like to clarify that?Imagify does not delete images on its own. The plugin is designed to optimize images while keeping the original files safe.

    If the?backup option?is enabled in the settings, original images are stored in the?/uploads/backup/?folder. If disabled, only the optimized versions are kept, but deletion is not part of Imagify’s functionality.
