• I had WP-Super-Cache deactivated and had no intentions of using it. I deleted the plug in and all hell broke loose. All I’m getting is a white page when I attempt to access either the home page or the WP-admin area.

I reloaded the Super-Cache plug in via ftp. However, I don’t know how to reactivate it from the server. All the rwx permissions are correct. I don’t understand how disabling an inactive plug in would cause this problem. There are no error logs to refer to either.

Any ideas on how to resolve this, I’m all ears.

    Thanks in advance.

  • See the readme.txt, remove the WP_CACHE define in wp-config.php and follow the uninstall instructions.

I can’t access the WP-Admin area to do that. Uninstalling the plugin caused the site to crash. I’m in my Plesk control panel and see the line you’re referring to, but can’t delete from there.

I still don’t understand why deleting the files caused my site to crash. I’ve never had that happen when deleting other plugins.

Can’t you just download the plugin again, unzip and read the readme file?

To get to your wp-config.php file, go to your hosting control panel, file manager, and edit the config file as the readme file states.

    Got it resolved. Thanks.

    Hey there,

I’ve had the same issue, blank screen, blog will not load. I have read the readme, I’ve removed the lines from .htaccess, removed plugin folder for SuperCache, and have removed the WP_CACHE define from the wp-config.php file…. still, I cannot connect to either the admin page or view the main blog page… any thoughts?

    @ jlevan
    delete .htaccess
when site comes back, regenerate the permalinks
    admin – settings – permalinks

Sorry I didn’t get back sooner, but I did want to thank you for your very quick reply. All is back up and running, thank you very much
