• Hi,

I am receiving hundreds of errors a day on my virtual dedicated server. The majority of them are being caused by plugins that have been deleted being called. Below I have included just a small sampling of the errors. They are eating up my memory and causing Apache to crash repeatedly.

I have tried resetting the plugins folder, didn’t do any good.
I tried opening EVERY sites plugin page to get the errors to show up in pink highlights and then go away, didn’t do anything.

I just upgraded my server to double the RAM to try and combat the problem. But now it has just allowed it to do more and the new 2GB of RAM is now instantly 90% used. Please can someone help me and tell me how to get rid of all of these errors?

    Thanks,
    Gene

  • Use robots.txt file to disallow wp-content folder from crawling.

This won’t affect search engines crawling my content at all?

Did you go back to the wp-admin -> plugins after deleting those for the ‘system’ to determine those were removed?

    No.

If you delete plugins directly from the wp-content/plugins directory you have to go back to the wp-admin -> plugins while in the WordPress dashboard for it to determine what plugins are active and it will remove those it cannot find.

If you don’t it will still try to access those directories, whereas display errors like that in your log.

    Hi Frumph,

Yes I went back to the WP Admin>Plugins page on EVERY site and got the pink highlighted messages saying they were removed. I thought that would work too, but it didnt.

Hi again adpawl, I will try disallowing the wp-content folder now.
