Deleted Plugin but it is still active

I never had success getting this plugin to be an automatic backup solution. I received emails about errors for both the site backup and the database backup. I found another plugin that works for me and deleted BackWPup from the plugin list on my WP dashboard. Some part of the BackWPup plugin must still be active, because I continue to receive error emails from BackWPup. How can I make the plugin stop? Thanks for any assistance : )
