I deleted the API settings, deactivated and deleted the plugin, and deleted the view, property, and account in my Google Analytics account, and yet Pingdom and WebPageTest continue to show a single ~300ms request to googletagmanager.com and 2 requests totaling over 200ms to google-analytics.com. How can I get rid of Google Analytics (which I never pay attention to) and it’s tax on my page speed?

    Hi there,
WordPress plugins cannot affect your site load, nor request things after they are deactivated.

If you are seeing those requests, its from another plugin or from scripts inserted either in your theme options or template files, or if you are using caching and you haven’t cleared that cache.

In the website link provided, those outputs do not match the ones that our plugin outputs, so it’s likely from something embedded in your theme.

Thanks chriscct7. You were right – It was a hook I had enabled in my theme. Thought maybe the Google Analytics plugin left some residual code somewhere. All good. Thanks!
