Deleted page still displaying – permalink issue?

  • Hi all,

    I have a tricky one. I probably brought this upon myself, but bear with me…

    I had an existing blog posts page on my site, but it was very basic and needed an update. So I started building another one – I basically created a new page, gave it the slug blog-2 (the original slug was blog).

    When the new page was finished, I changed it’s slug to blog and made the original blog page blog-2. Updated my nav, links, and the changed the Reading Settings to point to the new blog page.

    However, now whenever I go to the URL for my blog page, the old page keeps coming up. I have deleted the old page, unpublished and republished the new page, changed the slug to my-blog, purged caches at plugin and browser level, and still nothing.

    I realise I probably caused havoc with the permalinks by switching them between pages, but I have no idea how to fix it.

  • above url leads to a 404 page ?

    Hallo! i have the same problem.. then i published the new page or post, the wordpress is not creting new page, but it just republished the last one. i need to press CTRL+F5, everytime, to fix this probles. It is caches on wordpress ore browser level. And it is not only in WordPress 4.7.2, it is an old problem. Does any body know?
