Deleted media still showing up on google searches

  • Hi, I have deleted a submission form from my media library and added an updated one (with a different name and URL) but when I google the name, the old submission form shows up and I can access it. How is this possible if I have deleted it from my library?

  • Hi @evietomlinson, if I navigate the link you shared I get a “Not Found” error page. Which, based on your question, I think is ok. So I think WordPress is working as expected.

    About the Google results, keep in mind that Google doesn’t index pages on real-time. It can take from a few days to a few weeks to update their index with new results.

    Hi @mmaattiiaass thanks for your reply. It’s definitely a good sign if you get an error when following the link and hopefully you’re right and it’s just a delay with google!

    Google takes some time to update its cache, it can take days.
