I recently deleted some plugins and one of them was Jetpack. I also use Wordfence.

Now today I cannot login to my site’s dashboard. I used the correct password, but to no avail. I then tried to change my password using the link on my login page, but did not get an email to change it.

Please help. I need to get into my site’s dashboard as soon as possible.

    Thanks for your help.

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Thanks for your response t-p.

I found out how to change my site password through MySQL and was able to get back into the Dashboard.

I also restored my site to yesterday’s backup before deleting Jetpack. From there I deactivated the functions I don’t need from Jetpack but kept the plugin.

Everything is back to normal so far.
