Deleted images are loaded

  • Hi,

    I′ve been having the same problem with loaded images for a long time.

    I delete a png image in the media library and in the uploads folder, check that there is no trace left in wp_options, but the image is still loaded on the page.

    I′ve cleared the site cache, expired files and browsers cache (no server-side cache).

    In all these cases, the image is .png but the developer tools network indicates mime type text/html, and the console shows error 404, with a loading time of 6s and even more!

    Could someone please tell me why and how deleted png images keep on loading?

    The image still currently loaded is:

    – w_ini_logo.png

    I’m afraid this is happening every time I delete a png image!

  • I looked at the page that you’ve given and I didn’t get a 404 error, and it didn’t try to load that image file. It sounds like you might still be seeing some left-over residual caching somewhere.
