    Hi! Thanks for the plugin!

I have some images (uploaded to media) that I have already deleted. From what I’ve read around the web(correct me if I’m wrong please), images that I have deleted from wordpress, still exists in the database. So my question is, will this plugin finish the job and clean up the database as well?

    thanks!

    Hey Tech Dwarf,

    Thanks for the compliments!

To totally delete an image (physically from disk and also from the database:
Go to ‘dashboard’ > ‘media’ (=media library)
Select the file(s) you want to delete and select ‘delete permanently’

If you only delete the files from your disk, they will remain in the database… (well, not the image files themselves but references to the physical file)

I hope this answers your question!

    Thanks Rolf!

So to fully delete the image, I have to do it through dashboard ‘delete permanently’.

What do you mean by delete the files from your disk? are you talking about through terminal, filezilla, etc? thanks!

    Hey Tech Dwarf,

You are right about deleting the files from your disk:
I thought you maybe just deleted the physical files using a terminal or FTP client…
Of course that won’t remove them from the database ??

    peace,
    Rolf
