    Hello,

We had a spam problem with russian emails that were signing up for the newsletter (before starting with double opt-in). I’ve deleted them all from the backend, but we just got thousands of emails saying they couldn’t be delivered. So we got an email for every russian email that was in our list before. Apparently our emails were sent out not only to our subscribers, but to all those thousands russian email addresses that I had deleted before. After a quick look into the database, I figured that they are still there. But in the backend they’re gone. I mean, why are they still stitting in the database, how does this make sense? And how can this be fixed?

    Thanks,
    Johannes

    Hi Johannes,

Sorry for the inconvenience you had.

We permanently delete contacts from a database when you delete it from the frontend.

Please let us know which version of the Email Subscribers are you using based on that we can guide you further.

    Hi Malay,

We have used the version before 4.3.1.
We have now deleted the emails manually from the database.
    It has been crazy.
