I had configured a custom URL which was working just fine. e.g. https://www.mysite.com/ahlogin
I needed to disable it to debug another plugin, so I went into main settings and removed the text “ahlogin” from the Custom login URL, and saved the setting. Then I was unable to get into my site with either https://www.mysite.com/wp-admin or https://www.mysite.com/ahlogin

I had to delete the WpCerber plugin in order to get back into wp-admin.

FYI – I was using V4.8.1 because I was hesitant to upgrade to 4.8.2 until I watched the boards for any new potential bugs.

Suggestions on how to recover and be able to turn on/off the Custom URL without running into this problem?

First of all, you have to use 4.8.2 version because it’s an actual bug fixing version.

If you have disabled the Custom login URL, you need to uncheck:

    1. Immediately block IP after any request to wp-login.php
    2. Block direct access to wp-login.php and return HTTP 404 Not Found Error

and then you can use the default login page: /wp-login.php.

Ok, so do I just install 4.8.2 now and I’ll be able to do that? As I said I had to delete the 4.8.1 plugin in order to regain admin access to the site.

    Love this plugin!

Yes, but the version of the plugin is not relevant to my answer. It works with any version.
