Deleted All Root Files, Everything Else Intact; How Recover?

    The complete wp-admin, wp-content, and wp-includes files are intact as before. The MySQL database on the server is intact as before. I accidentally deleted all of the root directory files (wp-config.php, etc.). How do I recover the blog? Thanks, if you can help.

  • You should be OK by just replacing those missing files and re-creating (or replacing, if you have a copy) your wp-config file. You can do it manually if you’re comfortable doing that, or you can do a fresh install, being careful to keep aside your wp-content folder so that you don’t have to re-do themes and plugins and the like.
