Deleted all categories on uninstall

  • I tested this plugin and found out it didn’t fit my needs.
    So I deactivated it and deleted it.
    Doing so made all categories from all post types (custom and classic) being erased from the DataBase.
    I just tested the plugin on one custom post type, and didn’t activate it anywhere else.
    One thing I can think of is that I was also using the Taxonomy Order plugin, but, as I said, I didn’t activate the plugin on any taxonomy.

    I don’t want to be harsh with the authors, I’m sure they’re doing a great job, but please be careful and consider testing the scenario I tried to describe, because the damage I had on my DataBase was huge.

    We want to sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. We hear you and understand where you’re coming from.

    This is not the first time a user mentions this and we’ve done our best to get to the bottom of this issue. Thanks to your feedback we believe we might have found the common link: another Taxonomy Order plugin. You mentioned you were using a Taxonomy Order plugin, can you please let me know which one? It will help us narrow it down even more.
    As you can see here both users also had installed a taxonomy order plugin.

    We were able to replicate the issue on our end using Category Order and Taxonomy Terms Order. Categories are removed when you delete Simple Custom Post Order and they are back when you deactivate and delete that plugin (Category Order and Taxonomy Terms Order).

    We do try to make SCPO compatible with as many plugin as possible, however, as I’m sure you’re aware, there are so many plugins out there (more than 45,000 free ones), which makes it impossible to guarantee perfect integration with every single one of them as much as we’d love to.
    I am truly sorry this compatibility issue affected you.

    I will be opening a ticket regarding this incompatibility and we hope to be able to find a solution in our next update.
