• I created a new user, and then I deleted the admin user so I would be left with the new user. After I did this, I tried to update a plugin and it said that I wasn’t allowed on the server.

Now I can’t even go to my domain, ProsperousParadise.com, and I can’t get to the login screen to get into my account.

I contacted my hosting company and they said that it might be something to do with WordPress trying to prevent people from hacking into the server and are having trouble. Could this be it?

    So to sum up:
I created a new user, deleted the admin, and whenever I try to go to the log in screen or even the domain name itself, it says “Forbidden” and “403 Forbidden”.

If anyone could let me know how I can fix this or what could be causing this, that would be amazing.

  • This is odd. If you were in your wp-admin to be able to delete an account then it’s probably not your host locking you out but there are several host who are shutting down access to all WP installs.

Connect via FTP to where WP is installed and look for an .htaccess file, you may need to click on an option that says “Show hidden files” if you cannot find the file.

If you can find the file:
-Delete the file from the server (You can download it first to desktop if you’d like)
    -Reload your site and check
-Cross your fingers that’s it was only the .htaccess file blocking public access ??
