Deleted 10 old themes. Why is "Broken Themes" showing?

  • I deleted 10 themes. Now I see the message “The following themes are installed but incomplete”. How do I uninstall them? I looked on my pc for wp-contents/themes but cannot find this. I am just learning. The most detailed information is much appreciated. Thanks, Sue

    That generally means that you left a child theme there, but uninstalled the parent theme.

    A child theme is basically a new theme which is based on an existing parent theme and therefore uses some of its files. Without the parent, it’s broken and incomplete.

    You will need to delete these manually from /wp-content/themes/ on the server, and in the future, make sure that you delete the child themes first. ??
