    Hi,

Can the plugin delete log files automatically after a certain time period? It would be helpful to reduce disk uses and decrease the inode used.

If yes then do let me know else I would request a feature to set automatic deletion of logs after per week/month/quarter etc. And a separate button to immediately clean the logs.

    Thank you

WebP Express does not delete log files automatically.

A “clean log files” button sounds like a good idea.
I’m thinking that instead of automatically deleting old logs, it would perhaps be more useful to allow logging to be completely disabled.

Btw: I plan to use the logs when I get around to make the Filemanager-like interface for converting files individually and comparing original and converted files visually.

    Hi,

“Clean Logs” would be an easier implementation compared to scheduled automatic deletion. Although in that case, the user will have to visit settings and click the “Clean” after certain periods.

But as you pointed “Allow logging to be completely disabled.”, the scheduled deletion won’t be required anymore. The log writing can be made optional. The user can clean the log and opt-out from writing the log.

Regarding, the file manager like interface, it seems a premium feature. For that, I would suggest maintaining the log in the database. Having a Webp copy and further, a log rather for each image seems an expensive idea.

And above all, a user’s wish regarding optionally retain or not the log must be respected.

PS: I have seen both GitHub links, just I feel better to write in the forum ;).

    Thank
