    Newest versions, PHP 8.1

    1. Media Library
    2. List view
    3. Bulk select (an entire folder)
    4. Bulk action “Delete permanently”

    Expectation:

    • entries in media library deleted
    • files deleted in WP’s upload folder as well

    Actual outcome:
Only the library entries are gone, the files themselves are still in the uploads folder.

This also leads me to wonder how many other “file corpses” we’ve accumulated by now.

    Hi @isarisar ,

    Thanks for coming today!

I am surprised with this, because deleting a media file actually deletes it completely from your website.

FileBird however do keep a backup file folder, which enhances the Download feature added to FileBird:
    https://ninjateam.gitbook.io/filebird/filebird-library-left-section/how-to-download-folders-and-files

However, even that backup folder automatically gets deleted after a short while.

So, could you please let me know where you see that file copies from, please? Can you send screenshots?

Also, can you temporarily deactivate FileBird, then try to delete files normally from your library and check if it still keeps a copy?

    Kind regards,
    Bruce

    Hi Bruce,

looking at it again a few hours later, there’s indeed some 400MB more free, and all but one of the files gone.

However, there were still some thumbnail corpses of them lying around, all with a -200x### or -300x### name suffix. I deleted those manually.

    Hi @isarisar ,

I think the issue was just what I predicted.
Well, glad to know you have free spaces now ??

    Kind regards,
    Bruce
